Split/Second Wiki

Survival is a game mode in Split/Second that features a circuit track, requiring a player to survive for long against the trucks, the Rigs.

Gameplay[]

Featured in Big Rig Boom and other seasons, Survival features different rules:

  • Survive as long as you can.
  • Pass the Rigs to gain points (the more you pass, the more streaks you'll gain).
  • Blue Barrels slow you down. Red Barrels blow you up.

This game mode is very intense due to the number of barrels the rigs drop down the more the player passes them. It'll start by dropping down a lot of blue barrels and a few numbers of red barrels. The more the player passes by them, the more red barrels that will be dropped down commonly. There are also other NPC drivers driving a PSP version of the Hanzo GT, but they're mostly just shields for the player so they're not much of a problem.

Note that there's a timer on top. If the timer reaches zero, it'll be Sudden Death. The Rigs will now frantically drop down red barrels, and this part is extremely impossible due to the barrels being scattered out and dropped down very quickly. To avoid this, the player must pass the rigs as fast as they can. But be aware that the more you pass, the less amount of time you would be given since the gameplay will start to increase its difficulty.

Trivia[]

  • There is a DLC game mode combining both Race and Survival: Survival Race.
  • In the Seasons, the players must pass the rigs in order to reach first place
    • In Quick Play, the player can set their own records by passing the rigs indefinitely.
  • The gamemode is referred to as 'Nemesis' in the game's files.
